How instructors use it

Pre-test. Students take the Core test cold in week one. Everyone sees their weak topics.

What this is, and isn't

This is practice. It doesn't certify anyone.

Your students still take a proctored exam from an EPA-approved certifying program (EPA list of programs). If your school already proctors 608 exams, this fits alongside that.

Apprentices in your program

Registered apprentices can work without certification for up to two years, under close supervision by a certified tech (40 CFR 82.152, 82.161(a)(2)). Earning 608 early keeps that clock from becoming a problem.

Common questions

Do students need an account? No. Core works without one, and progress saves in each student's browser.

Does a seat expire at the end of the term? The pack is a one-time purchase with no subscription.

Can students practice in Spanish? Not yet. English is available now.

Is this the certification exam? No. It's practice for it. The exam comes from an approved certifying program.
